Shawni Rae (MUSIC)

Cottonwood Records kicks off their first month of videos with a talented local artist, Shawni Rae! I have known Shawni since childhood and it was a pleasure to record her amazing voice once again. She recorded a cover song titled “Ring of Fire” by Johnny Cash, as well as an original titled “Holes In Your Heart”. The video was all shot at Cottonwood Records on a Canon 60D. To light the stage I used two rim lights (Arri 150, 300) and one key light (Arri 650). Make sure to check out her videos and show some love and support by purchasing her songs. TIP: Knowing your camera’s weaknesses gives you the ability to shoot a better image. DSLR’s are known for low dynamic range, so make sure to take the time and properly light the set. This will allow you to shoot at a lower ISO and maintain details in both the highlights and shadows.
