USER GUIDE

To delivering multitrack files for mixing

LOOKING TO GET YOUR SONG MIXED?

Please read before sending over your song.

EDIT
Do all of your editing including vocal comps, copying choruses, tuning, etc. If you need this service done for your project then please contact us.

LABEL TRACKS APPROPRIATELY
i.e. ‘KD’, ‘Snare’, ‘Vox’, ‘Vox Dub’, etc.

PRINT ALL TRACKS DRY
i.e. without any reverb, delay, etc. Avoid inline processing like compression and EQ whenever possible. If you feel you captured the sound with your processing then please provide both processed and RAW tracks (Please label each track accordingly).

CONSOLIDATE ALL TRACKS
All tracks should start and end at the exact same place—this allows everything to play back in sync. If done correctly, all files will be the same size, with stereo tracks being twice the file size of a mono track. Please export mono instruments as mono files and stereo instruments as stereo files.

PREFERRED FORMAT IS
.wav 24bit, 44.1kHz, however, if your song was tracked at 16 bit, 48kHz then keep it at 16 bit, 48kHz—do not convert. If higher sample rates were used such as 88.2 or 96kHz then please contact me beforehand.

PLEASE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING WHEN DELIVERING YOUR
TRACKS
A) Consolidated files. B) Rough mix – if possible. C) Notes including tempo, key – and anything else such as problem areas, tracking notes, qualities you would like to hear in the mix, etc. Also include in the notes your contact information as well as information for the song (Producer, Recording engineer, Artists, Title of the song, etc.)

ZIP ALL FILES AND UPLOAD TO
Dropbox, FTP, or wetransfer. If you would like to use our FTP, let us know and we will set up a secure folder, username and password for you. If using online services, send your files to joel@louisstudios.ca.
